mj cartThe quickie with Kenickie: I played a lot of golf between 18-20 years old and became a scratch golfer. Moved to Los Angeles when I was 21 to attend Cal State Northridge. I thought about trying to walk on the golf team, but coming from a small farming community in the central valley, there was way too much going on in Los Angeles to spend my time playing golf. The DCI 962’s started to collect dust.

Fast forward 10 years. Now I have a wife and four kids. I decided to leave the corporate world and take my chances in the world of golf. My family and I relocated from Orange County to Northern California to be closer to my wife’s family. I had planned on getting back together with my former instructor Darrell Klassen and get the game dialed in. However, I found out that he is retired and enjoying his time at the beach, it is well deserved. I was a little worried about his retirement because when you find someone that you work well with and has the same view on golf that you do, its scary to try a new teacher/coach.

Fortunately I found Bill Johnson. He is an awesome coach and all around great guy! He has helped me build a tour level swing and given me a lot of insight on the world of professional golf. The journey begins…
